PENGARUH KOROSI TERHADAP UMUR LELAH ALUMINIUM 2024 – T4 MENGGUNAKAN PENGUJIAN ROTARY BENDING

ABSTRAK :
Corrosion is metal damage because it reacts chemically with the environment. The types of corrosion are gap corrosion, tense crack corrosion, corrosion of wells, and galvanic corrosion. Aluminum 2024-T4 is widely used in the aircraft industry because it has the advantage of lightness, high ductility, and corrosion resistance. The aim of this research overcome corrosion fatigue age of aluminum 2024-T4 by using rotary bending testing. The research method was performed using three specimens without treatment, three specimens of NaCl corrosive treatment, three specimens of pitting corrosion treatment in accordance with ASTM E 466 - 96 for rotary bending test and for determination of rotary bending test load. The way to determine the fatigue life of the material is through the stem graph of the effect of the specimen treatment on the specimen fatigue cycle by using bending-type rotary fatigue testing. The 2024-T4 Aluminum Dimension uses JIS Z2201 on tensile test. The results of the analysis showed differences in fatigue life due to the treatment of different test specimens. The pitting corrosion treatment had an average fatigue life of 12.466 cycle, compared to the average fatigue life of 38,400 cycle NaCl corrosive specimens and non-treated test specimens having an average fatigue life of 45,333 cycle, with a fixed voltage of 20,571 Ksi Keywords : Aluminum 2024 - T4, Corrosions, Rotary Bending, Fatigue Life
